YardStick tour: the rental manager
What this video answers: which trucks are working, which are sitting, and what each one earns, for the rental manager. The same screens cover units in and out of service, how hard each one works, and its history. Recorded in TruckIQ, the YardStick fleet module, on the development site with demo data. About 60 seconds.
Script
- Title card. For the rental manager: which trucks are working, which are sitting, and what each one earns.
- Dashboard. YardStick pulls contracts, billing and units from the dealer's management system every night. This is demo data.
- Rental Utilization card. Utilization is shown two ways: the average for the dates you pick, and how much of the fleet is on rent today.
- Change the dates. Change the dates, and every number follows.
- Fleet Performance by Unit, sorted by utilization. Then go truck by truck. Sorted by utilization, the busiest units are at the top.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list. And at the bottom are the units sitting idle: the ones to put on rent, move to another branch, or sell.
- Open a unit. Open any unit for its rental history, revenue and value.
- Market page. The rental manager also sees the Market page, which compares the fleet with other dealers' units of the same type, over the same dates.
- End card. YardStick. Know what every truck is doing.
What changed from version 1
- The narration now matches the screen. Version 1 said "the units sitting idle rise to the top", but the unit list sorts busiest first (it only sorts one way). The new script says the busiest are at the top and shows the idle units at the bottom of the list.
- No dead air. Version 1 had 31 seconds of silence (30 to 61 seconds in) while a slow page loaded. Version 2 is cut so no pause is longer than 1.5 seconds, and that was checked by measuring the audio.
Benchmark visibility
The rental manager has a full YardStick account, so they see the Market page and the market lines on the dashboard. Every market figure says how many units and dealers stand behind it, and no dealer sees another dealer's figures.
